　今回は、当工房作品で一番人気があり、コロンとした形が特徴的な朧月鉄瓶のご紹介です。


　ところで朧月という言葉、なんとなくイメージができるような、聞いたことのある言葉ですが、春を表す季語ということはご存知でしょうか？冬から春に季節が移り変わる時期は、寒暖差の激しい天候が続くため、空に霧(きり)や靄(もや)がかかりやすく、空がかすんで見えることが多くあります。


　この「霧や靄などに包まれて、柔らかくほのかにかすんで見える春の夜の月」を「朧月」と言い、春の幻想的な風景を表す言葉として約1,000年も前から日本では使われてきました。


　朧月を示すときには、月の形や大きさは関係なく、満月でも三日月でも朧月と呼ぶそうです。
（ちなみに、秋の夜に霞んで見える月を「薄月(うすづき)」と呼び、秋の季語として使われます。)

　田山鐵瓶工房の「朧月鉄瓶」では、胴全体に朧月夜の空の様子を、蓋のツマミには「金星蝕(きんせいしょく)」と呼ばれる、金星が月に隠れる現象を表現しています。

　昔から、草花や動物など自然界に存在するものをデザインに取り入れることが多い南部鉄瓶ですが、この朧月鉄瓶は、まさにその「かすみがかった春の夜に浮かぶ月」という自然の風景を表現した作品となっています。


　コロンとした丸いフォルムが可愛らしく、また、田山鐵瓶工房作品では珍しいまっすぐな注ぎ口は、鉄瓶全体をシンプルに見せるだけでなく、湯切れの良さも兼ね揃えています。

　I will introduce "Oborozuki tetsubin" which is the most popular tetsubin in our studio works and it has round shape like the full moon, which is its feature.


By the way, you may have heard of the word "Oborozuki", but did you actually know the word "Oborozuki" is a "Kigo (season word)" that represents spring?
*Kigo: Season word or phrases for Haiku. Designated word for Haiku that expresses scenery, emotion, atmosphere, etc...of four seasons.


During the term where the weather is turning from winter to spring, the temperatures are up and down so that it becomes foggy and hazy easily, then you will see the sky looks hazy often around that time of the year.


The phenomena that the sky is held by haze, and the moon in the spring sky looks faintly haze, is called "Oborozuki", it has been used as a word that expresses mystical scenery in spring since about 1,000 years ago in Japan.


Both full moon and crescent moon are called "Oborozuki", so the size does not matter when you say the word "Oborozuki".
(A faintly moon in autumn sky is called "Usuzuki", which is used for a season word of autumn.)
